The Miracle of Sai Baba Driving His Devotee Home – Sai Devotee Hitesh

In the Sacred Shri Sai Satcharitra, Sai Baba made it clear that He did not require His devotees to offer six or eight-fold prayers. Rather, a simple namaskar (greeting with devotion) would suffice. The following story perfectly exemplifies this teaching.

A close friend of mine, who was a devout follower of Sai Baba, often visited Jamnagar in the Saurashtra region of Gujarat for business meetings. On one occasion, he was returning to his home in Baroda and was driving alone in his car. It was midnight, and he was feeling tired from the long journey. He eventually fell asleep and slept for about 12 kilometers, but when he woke up, he found that he had reached home safely without any injuries or scratches on his body. It was a miracle, and he knew immediately that Sai Baba had taken the wheel and driven him home.

The car had made many turns on the way, and it had overtaken many trucks and buses without any difficulty. The car drove along the route to Ahmedabad, and the devotee only woke up when the car brushed against a truck while overtaking it. He then realized that he was on the highway to Ahmedabad and promptly took a turn and headed back to Baroda.

When my friend told me about this miraculous incident, he showed me the exact spot on the highway where it had occurred. I was deeply moved and felt touched by Sai Baba’s love for his devotees. It was astounding to see how Sai Baba had driven the car safely and expertly without any assistance from my friend.

My friend did not chant any prayers before Sai Baba, nor did he visit the Sai Mandir regularly. However, he always remembered Sai Baba in his heart and played Sai Baba’s arti or bhajan in his car before starting his journey, be it to his office or anywhere else.

This incident proved that Sai Baba is always with His devotees, even if they remember him mentally. It demonstrated that a simple gesture of devotion is enough to attract Sai Baba’s grace, and He will go to great lengths to protect and care for his devotees.
