The Deity Comes Down, The Deity Calls To Come Up

Shirdi Sai Baba has unique ways of fulfilling His devotees’ wishes. He is a wonderful crafter Who knows how to leave an everlasting impression on the devotee’s mind so that he or she progresses further on the spiritual path. He seems to be always worrying about the spiritual thirsts of His children and finding the nectar to quench those thirsts at the earliest. Two incidents have been narrated in this article about two devotees of Sai Deva from different time periods, the wishes get fulfilled in two different ways, but strangely due to a common thread tied to these devotees which is maneuvered by none other, their beloved Master – Sai Baba. Baba took Samadhi on 15th October 1918. Tarkhad family from Mumbai (Bombay presidency from their time) was greatly devoted to Baba. They used to visit Him in Shirdi, they were fortunate to take Darshan, talk, meet and eat with Baba when He was in body, all due to the merits accumulated and ties with Baba from prior births. Their experiences are described in chapter 9 of Sri Sai Satcharitra (English abridged version text book). Mother (Tarkhad aayi) and son (Jyothindra) used to go to Baba often. There are some experiences Jyothindra narrated to his children as they were growing up and some of these are not mentioned in the Satcharitra.

One of his children wrote those experiences in a small collection and is available on the internet, link is provided above. (or just Google it – “Tarkhad Family experiences”, you should be able to find it). One of the experiences from that collection is about Tarkhad aayi which goes as follows – Aayi was a devout and religious lady, she had a wish to visit Pandharpur which is holy shrine of Lord Pandurang (Krishana). Once she was in Shirdi and she mentioned her wish to Baba. Jyothindra was present at this conversation. Upon hearing her wish, Baba said there was no need to go to Pandharpur for her as this was her Pandarpur. She insisted by saying that it’s a Bhuvainkut (Lord Vishnu’s abode on earth), she would feel blissful if she could take darshan of Pandurang there. Baba yielded and said that she could go, Lord would bless.

At destined time, Aayi went to Pandharpur with her son, Jyothindra. They were carrying puja materials which included a garland for the beloved deity, and reached sanctum-sanctorum. Aayi was in ecstasy as she was seeing the Deity in person, the preserving force as per the scriptures. The priest came to her to collect garland and other materials (naivedayam etc.), Aayi was in a different realm and requested that she would like to garland the deity herself. The priest made it clear that the platform where deity stood was inaccessible to visitors was only meant for authorized people like him. But aayi again insisted and the priest kept saying distinct and clear ‘No’.

Jyothindra didn’t know what to do in this situation and asked aayi to pray to her Master – beloved Sai Deva, Who could definitely find a way in that deadlocked circumstance. She closed her eyes and started making a sincere prayer to Sai Deva. After a few moments, Lo and behold, the deity moved from the platform, got down and came to her and stood in front of her, she had still her eyes closed not knowing what had transpired. Jyothindra nudged her and asked to open her eyes and see how her prayer was answered. When she opened her eyes, she couldn’t believe it! She garlanded the Deity Who came down to fulfil her wish. All were wonderstruck including the priest. They offered humble Pranams to the Deity and He returned to His position on the platform.

The priest started touching aayi’s feet, thinking what a divine and pure soul she should be whose cry made Lord Pandurang to come down. But they made it clear to him that it was all due to the compassion of their Guru and Lord Vitthal (another name for Lord Pandurang). A soulful prayer made from the heart is enough to melt Sai Deva’s heart and He rushes to fulfil the devotee’s such a wish.

You can listen to her amazing experience on YouTube. I heard about this incident on her youtube channel (link is given above) in 2019. She narrates an experience which took place in 2008. She was on a journey to visit his son’s would-be in-laws’ house in another town. She was with her husband, son and son’s would-be father-in-law when they all halted mid-way in a place known as Ratanpur which has a famous shrine of Maha-Maya. The father-in-law described the glory of the shrine and said that it was very famous and was visited by many every day. Didi was not keen to visiting the Shrine initially, but after hearing the glory, she got an intense desire to take darshan of this holy shrine. They went to the temple premises and to their utter dismay found a long queue outside. They got into the queue and were at the tail end, nobody else behind them. They could see the Shrine from afar but it was highly unlikely they would get a chance to take darshan inside the sanctum-sanctorum.

She was thinking that she would see Sai Deva in the form of Maha-Maya that day and she was very excited about the darshan. But after looking at their location in the queue, she got plenty of doubts that she may not get the Darshan. She started praying to her beloved Master that she may not be able to see His Maha-Maya form today from close and she was unsure of any such opportunity would come in future. After some time, the aarti began. They could see the priest doing the aarti and she started feeling restless about the probability of missing the darshan that day. A little later, they saw the Priest was waving at someone in the queue, they couldn’t understand who he was signalling at. They turned back to find there was nobody behind them. She didn’t leave her place as she didn’t know the priest personally and was unsure what to do. The priest gave the aarti plate to another priest and came down from the shrine to the end point of the queue and looked at Didi, asked her to come up with him. She followed him to the Shrine where aarti was going on. He asked her to attend the aarti from there and gave her some flowers to offer to Maha-Maya later.

Didi says – she forgot her restlessness and concerns such as whether she was in proper attire to go near the Deity upon such an invitation, she just got lost in that blissful moment and took the darshan to her heart’s content. After all she got called to come up.

She doesn’t say much about why the Priest came down all the way to her, in her YouTube talk. But you and I can guess, it’s another Leela of Sai Deva Who can compel the Lord to sometimes go down and to sometimes invite to come up, just to quench the spiritual thirst which comes up in His devotee’s pure heart. Readers, what impression this experience would have left on Aayi’s and Didi’s devotion to Baba, I leave it to your imagination! Om Sai Nathay Namah.

Sai Baba Is The Lifeline

Om Shri Sacchidananda Samartha Sandhguru Sainath Maharaj Ki Jai! Om Sairam Everyone! I would like to seek Sai Babaji’s blessings and permission to write His miracles. Sorry Babaji for posting it very late. My sincere and heartfelt thanks to Hetalji and team. This website is the Kaliyug’s Sai Satcharitra. This is my second experience that I am writing on this website. I am an ardent devotee of Sri Sai Baba. I fondly call Him as my Ajja (Grandfather). I love Him so much that I started my day with His name and end my day with my Ajja’s name. My Ajja is my everything; He is my best friend, my real Gurudev. I cannot even think of anything in my life without Him.

Babaji has been showering His blessings to all His devotees every day and every moment. I feel Babaji’s presence everywhere around me. I am experiencing His leelas(miracles) every day. I would like to share few important ones with you all.

Firstly, I work for one of the MNC here in the US. I moved to the US in the year 2014. I was working very hard and waiting for promotion since last 5 years, but was not getting any good signs. Though my Ajja was guiding me on the right track each day, due to my childish behaviour, I was crying that it was not going well. Babaji expects everyone to perform their karmas (duties) and leave the results to His holy feet. My Ajja finally blessed me that too on a Thursday. Sai Babaji really tested my Shraddha and Saburi towards Him. Ajja knows when and how to give you. Babaji’s treasure is full but He will first make us to be eligible to get the things. Interesting part is that everyone got to know their decision on Wednesday and it was only me who got to know on Babaji’s day is Thursday through my manager.

While I was in another city, Columbus Ohio, I did not know that my Ajja’s big temple is there. One day car got damaged and while talking to my other colleague, he surprisingly informed that he was going to Babaji’s temple. This miracle shows that Sai Babaji can pull His devotees wherever you are there like pulling the sparrow’s legs by strings.

With blessings of Sai Babaji, my marriage happened on Thursday. After searching for so many girls, finally my wife Soumya came into my life on Ajja’s day. Babaji, this is Your samsara (family). Please guide us on the right track even though Your children make wrong decisions due to our misbehaviours.

Sai Babaji is way ahead of Your plans. So Ajja knows exactly what is good and what is bad for all His children. My wife Soumya was not very much interested in Babaji’s leelas(miracles). One Thursday, I asked her to think of her problem and write one number. To her surprise, Babaji heard her prayers and answered accurately in QA site. She was astonished and from that day onwards, she too became Sai Babaji’s devotee. So every Thursday she is happily preparing food to serve the Babaji’s devotees in Sai Baba temple. I would request all the Sai Babaji’s devotees not to take any wrong decisions in a hurry. Please wait for your turn for your prayers to be answered. Sai Babaji will bless everyone.

Sai Baba Was Always There For Me

Pranam to all the Sai devotees. I am happy to share some of the incidents that occurred in my life with the grace and blessings of my Lord Shirdi Sai Baba. Thank You to every single individual who are responsible for running this website. Please keep my name and email ID anonymous.

Incident 1: I was very worried on the sale of my condo, we had made the deal and everything was set and I had to vacate the place in a short time span. It was the holidays here, and getting a moving company was not easy. I prayed to our beloved Baba and of course He made it all possible despite the fact that there was only 1 week to vacate the place. The move was smooth and the transfer of property happened without any problems. Thank You to Baba for being there for me whenever I call upon Him.

Incident 2: I was undergoing harassment at my workplace by a male colleague of mine. It went to the point that I reported to management and it also went to HR. The company and HR gave me something in writing saying since I did not have any proof of this; it was dismissed – even though the colleague agreed saying something inappropriate/rude. I was shattered, and I did not know what to do. I had difficulty going back to work and facing the same person again. I prayed to Baba to please help me in this situation. Luckily, the company was unionized, union also got involved and the union and I took it to litigation. The union representative was so supportive to me and I knew Sai Baba was the only who sent him. There it was concluded that the other person was at fault and he now has been moved to a different department. I was always praying to Baba and reading Sai Satcharitra that this should end well and He only made this possible, as I had no witnesses/proofs. Thank You again Baba for Your blessing.

Incident 3: I was looking for a new car as my old one was reaching the end of its functioning. I was so afraid of my credit whether I would get it approved or not. The only thing I did before calling the financier was that I read the Satcharitra and prayed to Baba that it should be approved. Sai Baba never fails His devotees and my loan was approved and I got my new vehicle. All I have to say to all the devotees is to please have faith in Him, the great giver and surrender to Him and He will work miracles. Baba only refuses to give you things if that is really not good for you and will bring you harm – that will also be for our benefit.

I am looking for another specific job, and I know He will shower His blessings upon me at the right time – when it happen I would surely post the experience here as many can increase their faith in Him. Have a blessed day all. Om Sairam!

Sai Cured My Tooth Hindrance

Om Sairam! My humble pranams to Hetalji and the entire team maintaining this website. All the readers, moderators and writers here are blessed and holy. Certainly Sai knows it as without His will not a leaf can move.

Coming to my experience, first of all sorry to Sai for posting my experience late. Couple of weeks back after eating dinner, I noticed something got stuck to my last teeth on the left side and it was giving me much trouble. I even didn’t have toothpicks with me and tried all possible ways to squash but all in vain. Then, wholeheartedly I prayed to Sai to make that thing come out as I didn’t want to go to bed with that. Then again I tried removing it and to my utter surprise that thing came out and I spit it out.

One call to our Deva and He comes running without the least delay. What is wanted is true call from the bottom of your heart and Sai will answer. Though this might sound like a small experience, really it is not so for me. That night I was restless and really didn’t want to end up having a tooth ache or other problems. Sai is ever living and continues to keep up His promise. Remember these words of Baba to Damu Anna, “ The moment You think of Me from wherever You are, I will be with you.” These were not just told to Damu Anna. They are the words to His innumerable devotees whom He Himself have pulled towards Him. Oh Deva, please take mercy on Your creation and bless every being whether it is animate or inanimate and make the world free of suffering and make us event remember Your feet and chant Your name. My Son Gets Into A Good School

I promised Sai Baba that if my son gets into a school of his choice, I will post my experience. Thank you Hetalji for providing the devotees of Baba this amazing platform to share our experiences and strengthen our beliefs every single day.

My son who is a great student did not get into a school of his choice. We were heart broken, as he is a very good student. I prayed to Baba every minute that he gets in. He himself was suffering and that was the most difficult thing as a mother for me. By Baba’s grace he finally got in today. We do understand why Baba did not make him successful at the first attempt. He was doing great in all his class assignments and that made him a little overconfident. He did not listen to his parents and thought it was all too easy for him. In the past month he, as well as us, were shown the path of righteousness by Baba. He is much more humble and respectful now. Thank You Baba for showing us the right way and giving him what he wanted after making him see his faults.

The same goes for us too. The past month taught us the value of something which we took for granted. Baba is merciful. He is the sole resort of a devotee in distress. The past month has been very hard and I did lose my patience many times and asked Baba why was He not getting things that meant a universe to us. Baba has His ways and does things in the right moment. I pray to Baba to keep us in the right path, and bless my family and everyone with good health and pure intentions. My heartfelt gratitude to You Baba and prana at Your Lotus Feet. Keep our beliefs in You unflinching and steady. Pranam Baba. Om Sairam. Om Sairam. Om Sairam!

Baba’s Grace

Om Sairam to all. I had got throat infection and my throat was aching a lot. I prayed Baba that by next morning if my infection reduces, I will share the experience.
