Recent Trip To Shirdi – Anonymous Sai Devotee

Here comes the interesting experience at Shirdi as narrated by devotee.

Anonymous Devotee from USA says: I am struggling for something. Maybe I will be upset if my wish is not granted this time around. As they say “Mere Maan Kuch Aur, Sai Key Mann Kuch Aur”. I am struggling to surrender completely. Please pray to Baba give me strength to do so.

I am writing this experience just to mention my experience in Shirdi. I travelled to India this year in April. I knew for a matter of fact I would be going to Shirdi. It was a sudden trip. But I had been mentally preparing for my trip to Shirdi for a long time. It was an amazing trip. We did encounter a few hiccups initially. However all was taken care of by Baba. I was travelling with my cousin from Delhi. We stopped in Pune for a day and joined another cousin in Pune and then started for Shirdi.




We reached early morning by bus. It was a Sunday. There were a lot of People, but we still had our Darshan quite comfortably. Then we went to the Donation Counter. I had got a dress made for Baba. To my surprise, they told me the date, on which Baba would be wearing that. It was one day after I returned from Shirdi. I did get to see it online. Thanks a lot Baba for accepting my offering. I had been to Shirdi twice before this trip, and had experienced a lot of miracles. This trip was also very nice to me. A lot of little things that I didn’t know before came to know through this blog of yours, Hetal Ji. All wholehearted thanks to you Hetal Ji. I came to know:

  • We could sit in Dwarakamai at night (I did that. It was the most beautiful experience of my life)
  • I offered a dress. I didn’t know that, this could be done.
  • I had the Jal, with which the Mangal Snan is done (which is mentioned in your guide to Shirdi)
  • I made kheer for Baba and we offered it at the Samadhi Temple.
  • I collected about 10 leaves, after taking about 21 rounds of Gurusthan
  • I saw Baijma's Kutir
  • I could take a cloth that has been worn by Baba, as a remembrance.
This was the best trip anybody could ask for. The first day, I attended the Dhoop Aarti in the open Amphitheatre and then returned to the hotel. I was planning to attend the Kakad Aarti the next day, but could not wake up. Next day was Monday, so by now, I had missed my Kakad Aarti. I was slightly mad at myself for not waking up on time. I had decided to visit a few places like Shailja Maa's house, who is the granddaughter of Laxmi Bai. I had seen her video and taken all the details needed. My cousin and I met her. I had Darshan of the 9 coins. I didn’t know that they were still there. I asked her about her experience, when she had visited the Samadhi, 18 feet under the ground as a kid. She said she felt really blessed, as she could go there because of her grandmother. People are not allowed to go there any longer. Only on special occasions /special pooja's somebody from Sansthan and I think a Pandit Ji can go there. When I was in Samadhi temple, I asked a Guard, where is the exact Samadhi and where is the door that leads to the Samadhi? I was standing on the left side (ladies side). Now for all of you, who have been there multiple times, I don’t know if you have noticed there is a steel door, engraved in the ground on the ladies side just before the Samadhi, which if opened leads to the Samadhi. I froze the moment he told me. You are standing on the door that leads to the Samadhi (18 feet under the ground). I bowed down, tears unleashing, thanking the lord for showing me, whatever I wanted on this trip. I spoke to the guard for a good 5 minutes. He told me that he has been there a couple of times as he was an old employee. Very proudly he told me. I don’t do this job because I need money. I get to stay right in front of Baba all day along, so contended he sounded. God Bless this Soul. Next it was Noon Aarti in Dwarkamai. We got two very comfortable spots next to the dustbins that are there in Dwarakamai. After the Aarti, we were told to get up and start moving. I wanted to sit there for some more time, but again we had to comply with the temple officials. As we started moving, we noticed that Baba was being offered Naivedyam and that it was being distributed to the devotees. By now, we were nearing our exit in Dwarakamai. I wanted the prasad offered to Baba in Dwarakamai. I requested the guard and he obliged us. Thanks Baba. We returned to the hotel after having lunch. Our hotel was in front of Dwarakavati from where we easily got the ladoo prasad. Then we went to Sansthan's book store and bought some books. In the temple close to my home here in CA, the officials are planning to open a Sai Library. After that I read one chapter of Sai Satcharitra in Shyam Sundar Hall. I started reading it there. Then we went to the Hotel and slept for a few hours. I attended the night Aarti in the Samadhi Temple. By Baba's grace, I was standing right in front of Baba on the ladies side. Bliss (bliss bliss) is what I experienced. After all the twist, turn and push that you get, He made me feel very special by giving me an opportunity to stand right in front. I returned to Dwarakamai and got an opportunity to do some sewa in Dwarakamai. I wanted to touch the stone on which Baba used to sit. I realised there was an opening to touch it. I felt blessed. We were tired, but I was praying for strength to be awake till Kakad Aarti. We didn’t go back to the hotel, thinking that we might not wake up again. Next day we were to leave for Delhi, so it was imperative that we attended the Kakad Aarti. We were in Dwarakamai till 12:30 am and then decided to go to stand in Kakad Aarti's queue. Luckily we found an empty granite bench right in front of cooler. My cousin and I lied down and you will not believe we had a very sound sleep on the bench very comfortable. We woke up fresh and attended the Aarti. So I did get to attend the Aarti and then got a little Jal, which was offered for Baba's Mangal Snan. There is a Cat in Dwarakamai that stays right where Baba used to stay. I got to pat her and play with her a little bit. Initially I was scared, but then she seemed to be Baba's cat. Very royally, she was sitting there guarding the premises at night, then she went ahead and sat in a devotees lap, who seemed to be very upset, as if Baba was trying to comfort the devotee. All in all, it was a beautiful trip and Baba's grace. I love you Baba. Please don’t test me. I will fail. I think I have a lot of patience, but I will fail.

  1. Awesome experience. Read this article on early morning at 530…what an experience. I didnt know actual samadhi is 18 feet below the one on the floor. Also some folks do visit that actual samadhi. News to me about the cat, and jal . I'm sure you will cherish those moments for ever.

  6. After reading this article, I have seen my Darshan in flashback. No one could be able to step into Shirdi Sai Dham unless until his or her luck favours. If the blessing of Sai Baba is with someone, then he or she can take an opportunity besides every hurdle.

  9. Jai sai ram. Don't know why tears started rolling down my cheeks when i read that sentence "where exactly the samadhi is?". Wish i could go to shirdi again. Baba called me this year in the month of June. No doubt i had a wonderful darshan. Could't stay for a day. It was a quick trip. I pray to Baba to please call me again and i want to be in dwarakamai in the night. Dear sai devotee thanks for sharing your experiences. It was amazing.. Jai sai ram.

  18. This is an amazing leela of baba. I have been planning to go to shirdi from last couple if days. I was also thinking to offer dress to baba. Your experience gave answers to everything. I really felt like baba speaking through you.
    You are very lucky to attend all aarti and be in dwarkamai that late. I wish i could do it but i cant because i have 2 year old daughter who wont let me attend all this. You should be thankfull to baba for such a bliss.
    Your worries will end soon he is there with you then why fear.

    Sister a very good and beautiful experience of your shiridi trip.

    When i read about your cat experience, i remeber my experiences where once a squirrel came and started to eat from my plate. I accepted it to be Baba. Also when a black dog came to my house. It was a miracle and i have sent it to Hetalji for posting. If Baba wishes, it will be posted.

    I would also like to share my experience with all babas children about the black cat.During my first visit in 2008 I attended Kakad aarti and went to chawdi for darshan. suddenly this baba's pet black cat came to me and sat on my lap and sitted there for half an hour.other devotees who were there also wanted to take the cat from my lap but the cat denied and hold my jeans tightly with his paws, even i was unable to remove from my lap.I am blessed on that day and felt that baba accepted me as his child.   29. Beautiful Shirdi trip experience! It is nice how you were able to talk with the guard about the Samadhi underground (it was probably Baba's way of telling you about it since you aren't able to go there now). Also, I liked the story of the cat who was in Dwarakamai and helped to comfort a devotee who seemed upset; it must have been Baba himself in the form of the cat who came to help the devotee and was there to comfort him/her. May Sai Baba bless all of us, His children. Om Sai Ram!
